Twenty art troupes and 400 artisans will gather at the second national festival on traditional then singing and tinh instruments in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang from October 3-5.

The announcement was made by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at a meeting in Hanoi on September 25.


Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Le Tien Tho, said the festival coincides with the 57th anniversary of the establishment of Cao Bang province (October 3) .


The festival aims to promote the results of the first festival held in Thai Nguyen province in 2005, honour then singing art of Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic people in the north, and encourage them to preserve and further promote traditional art in social life.


Under the framework of the festival, there will be an exhibition and seminars on preserving and promoting then singing and tinh instruments in the country’s integration process.
