Writings in a contest “Vietnam in 2030” for school children have sent out a message of optimism for the future of the nation, the jury board said at the awards ceremony in Hanoi on January 27.

The contest, launched in September 2007 under the co-sponsorship of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Ministry of Education and Training, has received over 350,000 entries from all parts of the country.

The organising board presented three first prizes, four second prizes, seven third prizes and 31 consolation prizes.

Group prizes were also awarded to 14 schools with high results and high turn-outs.

Organisers said the contest aimed to motivate children to get well prepared for the future of their own and the national development and provide them with an opportunity to cultivate their imagination and writing talents.
