Diverse activities will be held including a photo exhibition of Saint Peterbourg and an exhibition of installation art, Russian Film shows and meetings of artists, painters and film directors between the two countries.
At a press conference in Hanoi on April 16, Deputy Director of the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography, Malyshev Vladimir, expressed his hoped that the Russian Cultural Week in Vietnam will leave a deep impression on Vietnamese people and contribute to promoting bilateral relationship.
Mr Vladimir said the Russian Agency for Culture and Cinematography and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture and Information will sign long-term cooperation agreements on exchanging art troupes, organising professional training courses, and preserving cultural heritage sties. In particular, preparations have been made for schedule “Vietnamese Cultural Week in Russia” in September 2008.
An art performance programme was given at the Hanoi Opera House in the evening of April 17 with the participation of famous artists from Russia, and the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra.
The event was co-organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture and Information, the Russian Agency for Culture and Cinematography and the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.
