Some folk paintings of the Republic of Korea (RoK) are being displayed at a 3-day exhibition opened in Hanoi on February 23.

The folk paintings or “minhwa” featuring various subjects from natural images to people’s daily life, have reflected the Korean people’s wish for a prosperous life.

Besides popular materials like oil-paint, water-colours, the RoK’s artists also use traditional paper to produce their works.

Numerous artworks were created by famous Korean artists such as Park Mi Yong, Nam Hee Jung, and Lee Jong Hwa. The event was jointly held by the RoK’s Cultural Centre and the magazine ART.
