A house of compassion, financed by the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Kumho Asiana fund and Kumho Construction Co. Ltd., opened at Van Dien Town, Thanh Tri District, Hanoi on April 10.
Apart from the house, the RoK’s friends also provided the district with some educational equipment such as projector and computers worth US$10,000 in total.
Since 2007, the RoK has completed the construction of nine houses of compassion in Vietnam, totaling US$230,000.
According to Kumho Construction Co. Ltd. Director Lee Yon-Goo, the Rok plans to build total 100 houses with the aim of helping the disabled, orphaned children and poor families in Vietnam improve their living standards.
