The Dae Chang Kum food and drink festival will take place at the National Conference Centre on November 25 to make the first anniversary of the Republic of Korean Cultural Centre.

Vietnamese people will have a chance to directly enjoy traditional South Korean dishes which have been well known through a vidfilm “Dae Chang Kum”. The differences and similarities in the food and drink cultures of both countries will be discovered at the festival.

Kim Sang Ug, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre, said the Centre will make two dishes, which are favourites in Vietnam, kimchi and chicken simmered with ginseng roots with the assistance of around 300 invited guests and food and drink experts from the RoK.

In particular three actors from the film “Dae Chang Kum” will take part in the festival: Lim Huyn Sik (acting as Dae Chang Kum’s father), Pak Eun Soo (as teacher of medicine) and Yo Un Gye (as Mama vicar-general).
