More than 100 Vietnamese guests, including those who love the Republic of Korea’s culture, had a chance to make and taste the RoK’s popular dishes at a culinary show in Hanoi on January 19.
RoK cooks instructed the guests to make some of their popular dishes such as Japchae (mixed vegetables with noodles) and Bulgogi (grilled beef). After tasting the food, the connoisseurs were provided with a manual book that teaches them to make some RoK popular dishes.
The show was part of cultural activities co-organized by the RoK Cultural Centre in Hanoi and RoK’s Kyunggido province to introduce the province’s farm produce and RoK cuisine to Vietnam.
To mark its first anniversary, the RoK Culture Centre held a cuisine and cultural festival named Dae Jang Geum late last year, drawing the participation of thousands of Hanoians.
The centre’s director Kim Sang Ug said that Vietnamese people know many RoK dishes through the TV series Dae Jang Geum broadcast on the TV channels in Vietnam and around the world. He also said that many RoK people like the Vietnamese dish called Pho (noodle soup).
