A delegation of beauty pageant contestants and winners from the Republic of Korea (RoK) arrived in Vietnam on July 11 for a week-long tour.

The group includes the first and second runners-up for Miss Korea 2007 and 51 candidates for this year’s Miss Korea tittle.

They will attend a Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange event, which includes Hanbok fashion shows in HCM City and Hanoi. The Hanbok is the RoK’s traditional dress for men and women.

The programme will include the presentation of Ao Dai (Vietnamese women’s traditional long dresses) by 10 RoK women, charming dances, a solo flute performance by young artist Kang Hyo-sun and the display of the famous Tiger and Butterfly painting by Seo Gong-lim.

The RoK beauty pageant winners and contestants will also be on hand to cheer for Miss Korea Lee Ji-seon who is competing in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant in the coastal city of Nha Trang on July 14.
