Vietnam’s first television film fair kicked off in the coastal resort city of Nha Trang on January 7 within the framework of the 28th national telefilm festival.

The event serves as an important venue for manufacturers and suppliers in the field to get together, stressed Ho Hong Son, Head of the Organizing Committee, who is also the director of the Khanh Hoa provincial radio and television station.

The film fair includes 20 booths displaying TV products of broadcasters and companies such as China Central Television (CCTV), Sony, Vietnam Television (VTV), HTV, KTV, Bach Viet, Cat Tien Sa and Multimedia.

The fair, which is open free of charge until January 10, also has an exhibition of stamps, photos and posters of Hollywood actors and actresses in different periods.

On January 6, the 28th national telefilm festival officially opened in central Khanh Hoa province with the attendance of 800 delegates from 82 stations, TV centres and film studios nationwide.

The festival has received more than 700 entries in 11 categories, the highest figure so far.

On the sidelines of the festival, there are many other events such as a TV technology exhibition, a gala to “welcome Miss World 2008 and TV stars to Vietnam”, and a live TV broadcast of the meeting with the stars.
