The collection of poems, “Prison Diary”, written by late President Ho Chi Minh, has been published in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The Bangladeshi version marks President Ho's 122nd birth anniversary.

Speaking on the occasion, the President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, Manzurul Ahsan Khan, praised late President Ho's spirit of patriotism, lofty sacrifice and great contributions to the national liberation revolution.

Vietnamese ambassador to Bangladesh Nguyen Van That said the publication of “Prison Diary” will make Bangladeshi readers, especially young people, know more about late President Ho and Vietnam and further strengthen solidarity, friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.

He described this effort as a meaningful activity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Bangladesh diplomatic ties.

“Prison Diary” was translated mainly by Ovinu Bibria Islam, a young intellectual (born in 1986), who is teaching at a university in Jessore city.

In February 2012, the book “Biography and Cause of President Ho Chi Minh” was reprinted for the fifth time in Bangladesh.
