Work on the preservation of Thien Mu Pagoda, a popular tourist site in the former royal city of Hue, has been completed.

The preservation of the pagoda, including the Phuoc Duyen Tower and Dai Hung Temple, took four years and cost VND27 billion (US$1.6 million) sourced from state coffers.

According to the Hue Centre for Monuments Conservation in charge of the project, the restoration was entirely based on the original structure.

Thien Mu pagoda, which is the oldest in Hue - the capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945), has many valuable antiques and receives hundreds of foreign and local visitors every day.
