An exhibition of portraits of Hanoi women by amateur painter Tran Chi Hieu is being held in Bangkok, Thailand and will last until the end of this month.

The exhibition introduces viewers to the special features of 19th –century Vietnamese women.

Hieu said that he wants to introduce elegant Hanoi women to international friends. The pictures were painted in 6 months and are based on photographs of Hanoi women in late 19th century.

This is his first exhibition and he is planning to draw pictures of the 18 Arhats in Tay Phuong Pagoda for his next show.
