Players summoned for U21 Int’l Football Tourney
(VOV) -All players of the Vietnam Youth Newspaper Team have been summoned for the U21 International Football Tournament in the Central Highland province of Gia Lai from October 13-21.
They will be led by veteran head coach Dinh Van Dung, who trained them for the two previous events.
Dung said he is honoured to be reappointed this time and feel very excited.
He is very impressed by his quality midfielders, such as Hai Duy, Duy Thanh and Khac Ngoc, who can play well in the centre and Phi Son, Minh Tuan and The Cuong in the wings.
Dung is only concerned to find someone who can pair with central back Hoang Thinh to create a solid defending system.
He said the Vietnamese team will try its best to defend the champion title, despite having to play with strong teams from Thailand and Singapore.
The team is scheduled to play a friendly match with Hoang Anh Gia Lai on October 12 as a prelude the tournament.
