A week-long exhibition of award-winning photos from around the world opened in Ho Chi Minh City on January 22.

The opening ceremony featured prize presentations to the winners of the Gia Dinh Photo Club International Contest, which drew about 10,350 photos from 900 artists in 52 countries and territories.

The 52 photos on display are from the four categories in the competition: colour, nature, monochrome and travel.

Gold medals will be awarded to 24 of the photos taken by artists from 14 countries and territories.

Special prizes will also be presented in the categories of colour and nature, for creativeness, action and portrait.

The contest is held biennially by the Gia Dinh Photo Club under the patronage of professional photography organisations such as the International Federation of Photographic Art, the Photographic Society of America, the Image Sans Frontiere and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
