A picture gallery on Thang Long-Hanoi and artifacts produced in different stages of Vietnamese history opened at the Thang Long Royal Citadel on January 25.
On display are 53 large oil paintings featuring the architecture, streets, royal ceremonies and costumes of the former imperial city of Thang Long, mostly reproduced from works by well-known Vietnamese and foreign painters from France, the US and Germany.
In addition, more than 1,000 antiques produced in the New Stone Age, featuring the cultures of the Phung Nguyen, Dong Son, Sa Huynh, Oc Eo, and Champa and the Ly-Tran-Le-Nguyen dynasties, are also being displayed. They include bronze drums, tools, weapons, lamps, pottery jars, pots, bowls and wine bottles.
The exhibition will run until February 28.
