Le Ngoc Minh, Deputy Head of the Department of Cinematography, said the event aims to honour Vietnam’s directors and their work in movie industry over the past few years, further highlighting their films to the public.

Apart from selecting the award winners in the four categories of movies, videos, documentaries and animations, there will be other activities including a seminar, galas and exchanges between film makers and audiences.

During the festival, part of the National Tourism Year 2011, artists will take part in charity activities, an exhibition on the film festival and meet with students from local universities and colleges.
