Photographer Nguyen Quang from northern Thai Binh province has won a gold medal for his work “Dung De Mat Mau Xanh” (Let’s Keep the Green) at the 32nd Artistic Photo Contest in Ho Chi Minh City.

Two silver medallists were Duong Quoc Dinh from southern Dong Nai province with “Dang Que” (Rural Look) and Nguyen A from HCM City for “Chung Tay Gop Suc” (Joining Hands).

The organising board also presented three bronze medals and five consolation prizes to other photographers.

Themed “Environment and Sustainable Development”, the contest drew 1,124 entries by 228 photographers from 27 cities and provinces across the country.

Meanwhile, Hoang Anh, a retired public employee, took a special prize at the first stage of the Canon Photo Marathon Asia 2007 in Vietnam held in HCM City on August 18.

This is a unique contest that challenges the creativity, imagination and endurance of photographers by requiring them to submit images within a few hours based on various themes that are revealed on the day of the contest.

Anh and the winner of the second stage of the contest that will take place in Ha Noi on August 25 will have a chance to win the grand prize of the Photo Clinic scheduled to be held in Japan from December 3-10.
