Vietnamese photographer Giang Ba Han has been invited to Japan to introduce his photos in an exhibition at the prestigious Olympus Kanda Gallery in the heart of Tokyo.

Titled "The Childhood," Han's collection features 50 photos capturing the images of children from different regions in Vietnam to celebrate International Children's Day (June 1).

This is the first time Han's photos have been exhibited in Japan, but the second time they have been displayed abroad. In 2002, the collection was shown at a personal exhibition in the US and received rave reviews from visitors.

The exhibition, which will finish on June 18, also aims to promote co-operation between photographers in the two countries on the 144th anniversary of the Japan Photographers Association.

"Japan and Vietnam conduct different activities to increase mutual understanding, and I hope our photos at the exhibition will help introduce the images of Vietnam’s land and people to Japanese friends," Han said.

Also on display at the Olympus Kanda gallery are a photo collection from Hue photography club, the Daily Activities collection by Vietnamese photographer Do Dien Khanh, and the Life on the Banks of Red River collection by Nguyen Hoai Linh, who has won many photo awards at home and abroad.
