The five-day exposition, entitled "Vietnam-Laos, a new height of friendship and cooperation", emphasised the socio-economic progress made by the two countries in recent years, as well as improvement in the two peoples’ cultural lives. The event also highlighted the success of the 8th National Party Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the 10th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Among the photos on display were those of an official visit to Vietnam by a senior Lao delegation led by LPRP General Secretary and President Choummaly Sayasone and his wife from June 19-22.
