Vietnamese movie ”Pearls Of The Far East” has won two prizes at the 14th California Independent Film Festival in San Francisco city, USA.

The film, directed by Cuong Ngo, took both “Best Music” and “Best Cinematography” titles. It tells stories about seven Vietnamese women of different generations, who co-exist with a forbidden love.

”Pearls Of The Far East” sees the free participation of famous artists, namely Nhu Quynh, Truong Ngoc Anh, Hong Anh and Ngo Thanh Van.

It has been selected to screen at the 7th annual Women’s Film & Art Festival in Miami, Florida, from March 25 to April 1, 2012.

The film will be shown to Vietnamese audiences early this March on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8).
