Lacquer, oil, water-colour and pencil paintings depict Hanoi's Old Quarter, girls wearing traditional long dresses (Ao Dai), spring time, traditional Lunar New Year’s celebrations, daily life in Hanoi, portraits of late President Ho Chi Minh, the King of Thailand, and pagodas in Thailand.
Prominent at the exhibition are 12 lacquer paintings on Hanoi girls and the city’s landscape by Vietnamese painter Luong Khanh Toan to introduce Vietnamese culture and customs.
Thai painter Dinhin Rakpong Asoke said he was very impressed by the girls in Hanoi and he has produced many pictures of them.
At the exhibition, he introduced a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, who brought independence and freedom to the nation.
A similar exhibition was also held in Hanoi in May.
