A painting exhibition entitled “Expression and Abstraction” by overseas Vietnamese painter Van Duong Thanh opened in Hanoi on July 12.

The exhibition displays 45 best paintings by Van Duong Thanh who is famous in the world for her ability to produce paintings with her own characteristic style and original arts.

Most of her works are oil and lacquer paintings, which have been displayed in Vietnam, Sweden and France since 2007.

Mrs Thanh said, “My paintings displayed at the exhibition feature the natural beauty, love and people, reflecting the friendship and harmony of arts between Vietnam and the world.

Her paintings full of light and strong emotion have captured the attention of many Vietnamese and foreign visitors as they Van Duong Thanh graduated from the Hanoi University of Fine Arts in 1980 and has been regarded as one of the most excellent painters with modern style in Vietnam. She has launched more than 65  exhibitions in France, Sweden, the US and Singapore.
