On February 14, the Vietnamese Embassy held a get-together for the Vietnamese community in Russia, to celebrated the 77th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the traditional Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia Nguyen Ngoc Binh said that in recent period, Russia has adjusted its retail markets, thereby posing some challenges for Vietnamese people in the country. He believed that Overseas Vietnamese in Russia will overcome difficulties in this area and achieve better lives thanks to their hardworking manner, unity tradition and creativeness.
Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Russia, Le Ngoc Huong, said that Vietnamese nationals in Russia are enjoying many opportunities but facing remarkable challenges. Therefore, the Vietnamese community in Russia should strengthen its solidarity and quickly adapt itself to Russia’s new adjustments on foreign people management, in order to develop a powerful Vietnamese community in the country.
Le Duy Quang, a Vietnamese national residing in Russia for many years, said Tet is always a special occasion for Overseas Vietnamese in Russia. “We always look towards our homeland”, he confided.
