Vietnam’s Military History Museum has attracted more than 300,000 visitors this year, two-thirds of them from foreign countries.

This is thanks to its ideal location, and an impressive arrangement of objects on display, said the museum’s curator, Major General Le Ma Luong.

By cooperating with tourist companies and improving service quality, the museum is expected to welcome 350,000 visitors in 2008.

Currently, the museum is keeping 160,000 objects, of which 3,000 are on display. The most significant objects are two jet fighters MIC-21 and MIC-17, which had contributed to the victories of the Vietnam Air Force in the past. Furthermore, the visitors have been greatly impressed by the sand table models illustrating the two major military campaigns known as Dien Bien Phu and Ho Chi Minh campaigns.
