More than 300 kites from 17 international kite art organizations will perform at an international kite festival in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau from March 25-29.

Artisans from New Zealand, Germany and the US will introduce more than 100 huge kites, each over 100m in length, said Doan Quoc Le, secretary of the organizing committee of the festival which is to be held in Vietnam for the first time under the title ‘East Sea Dance’.

The host team includes 70 artisans from northern, central and southern Vietnam.

Among those taking part in the festival is Lam Hoac, a Vietnamese in Canada, who is placed seventh among the world leading kite artisans.
