An online video conference on education between Vietnam and the US was held on December 29 with the participation of representatives from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and California (the US).

Representatives of Hanoi included Vice Minister of Education and Training Banh Tien Long, senior officials and experts from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Fund (VEF).

Among representatives of Ho Chi Minh City was Professor Tran Xuan Gia, head of the Prime Minister’s Research Panel.

On the American side were representatives of the US Academic Institute, VEF’s highest-ranking officials and post-graduates as well as professors from famous universities such as MIT, Standford, Havard, Massachusetts.

The exchange focused on educational issues, which are of public interest in Vietnam such as experiences in building universities of international standard, study opportunities and career prospects for Vietnamese students.

The programme is under the framework of the annual conference of the US Academic Institute.
