This is just one of a series of contests which are being held between 2000-2010 to celebrate the 1,000^th anniversary of the capital city of Hanoi.

Representatives from the embassies of Cuba, Australia, Cambodia, Laos, Russia, the Ukraine, Malaysia, the Philippines and the UK attended the launch along with a large number of overseas students who are currently studying in Vietnam.

This year’s contest, entitled “Hanoi - Your rendezvous in 2009-2010”, includes seven multi-choice questions. Contestants are being encouraged to voice their opinions and suggest measures that would help to preserve and uphold the city’s historical and cultural values.

Entries can be written in one of the six following languages: Vietnamese, English, Russian, Chinese, French and Esperanto.
