New Zealand's TV-One on January 9 screened a 45-minute documentary film entitled ''Vietnam-My Father's War'' by Matthew Metcalfe of the Screentime film studio.

The film is about Frank Metcalfe, a New Zealand war veteran, who came back to Vietnam in 2005, 35 years after the war in Vietnam ended.

During his visit to Nui Dat in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where New Zealand troops were stationed during the war, F. Metcalfe met with some Vietnamese war veterans and recalled memories of the war. He better understood the Vietnamese people's just struggle for national independence, freedom and reunification, and expressed his desire to be a loyal friend with the Vietnamese people.

The film condemned the injustice of the war and praised the tolerance of the Vietnamese people as well as their wish to build relations of friendship with other countries in the world
