The Tre (Young) Publishers has recently launched four books about Vietnam’s legal foundation for its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

Most notable is the 350-page long ‘Bang chung lich su’ (Historic Evidence) which asserts that both archipelagos belong to Vietnam.

It gathers writings from many authors who present different historical angles of the issue as well as images, maps and appendices, including international legal documents.

‘Bang chung lich su’ also introduces and systematizes the historic events related to Vietnam’s sovereignty over these two groups of islands.

The other books include ‘Co mot con duong mon tren Bien Dong’ (One trail on the East Sea) by Nguyen Ngoc, ‘Hoi & Dap’ (Q &A) by Tran Nam Tien, and ‘Bien Dong yeu dau’ (Beloved East Sea) by Tran Ngoc Toan.

These four books are the start of Tre Publishers’ Bookcase on Vietnam’s sea and islands and the publisher has invited leading scholars and cultural researchers to join it in creating the collection.
