The 17th annual Vietnam Film Festival, scheduled for Phu Yen province from December 14-17, is expected to attract about 1000 delegates who are famous artists, managers and film directors across the country.
This information was announced at a press briefing held in Hanoi on November 9 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The event, part of activities to mark the 2011 National Tourism Year and celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnamese film festivals, aims to select the best works from across the country and honour artists and filmmakers who have contributed to Vietnam's cinematographic history..
Five categories of movies-videos, documentaries, scientific films and animations- will be screened during the event.
The opening and closing ceremonies of this year’s film festival will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV).
