They will compete in 14 events for men and 10 for women, including those in which Vietnam has shown strength in international contests, such as rapid fire pistol, standard pistol, sport pistol and air pistol.

In last year’s competition, hosts Hanoi dominated the medal tally winning 15 golds, four silvers and nine bronzes. Ho Chi Minh City came in second with seven gold, five silver and six bronze medals, and Hai Duong took third with four golds, one silver and two bronzes.

These three teams are also considered strong candidates for the championship title this year.
