Newly 700 works of art will be choosen to be displayed at the 2010 National Fine Arts Exhibition in Hanoi later this year.

The exhibition is held every five years by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review works by Vietnamese artists.

Vietnamese artists based both at home and overseas will be encouraged to send their paintings, graphics, sculptures and installations, created since 2006 to the selection panel.

Each artist can send three photographs of examples of their work. Sculpture need to have photographs taken from all four perspectives. Installations need to be shot from five angles (panorama, front, right, left and rear).

Paintings, graphics and reliefs should measure 60cm by 200cm. Works larger than 200cm need to be able to be disassembled for easy transportation.

Sculptures should measure 40cm by 200cm not including the pedestal and weigh not over 200kg. The artists will be responsible for paying for transportation costs and display fees for larger works.

Installation artists have to send a detailed map of the space they will use along with a short introduction.

The selection panel will select the best works by photograph for the first round. After that the works will be viewed in Hanoi, Da Nang and HCM City by the judges to select the winners and others for the exhibition.
