National athletics tournament opened for youths
(VOV) -The 2013 National Athletics Championships opened in Hanoi on February 16, attracting young athletes in three age groups from across the country to compete for 66 sets of medals.
The week-long event aims to promote physical training among young people and assist with national squad selection.
Vietnam’s national team will take part in the 8th Southeast Asian Junior Athletics Championships, hosted by Ho Chi Minh City this year.
The Vietnam Athletics Federation will award certificates recognising the most outstanding athletes and any national record breakers. Registrations of eligibility for the certificates will remain open until March 1.
