The programme served as a venue for former Vietnamese students in Russia to meet and exchange views and feelings.
Participants at the event recalled the days they lived and studied in Russia and their deep feelings for the country. Audiences were impressed greatly by memories of Vietnamese artist R’Cham Pheng, VOV General Director Vu Van Hien, and professor Le Van Nhan, head of the Russian-language department of Hanoi University, whose poems have been written in both Russian and Vietnamese.
Leonid Alexandovich, a well-known Russian artist, expressed his delight at the poem "Return to Russia" by VOV General Director Vu Van Hien and presented VOV with a picture of Moscow.
The former Soviet Union was a cradle for many students from developing countries between the 1960s and 1990s. Many of Vietnamese leading professors and doctors graduated from the Soviet Union’s universities and went on to contribute considerably to national construction. Today, Russia continues to be a world training centre with a dense network of state and private universities.
