Vietnam's museums will offer free tickets and organise special exhibitions on the country's big holidays to celebrate International Museum Day 2006 (May 18) themed "Museums and Young People".
They will also hold forums for school teachers on museums' roles in educating young generations.
The museums plan to coordinate with schools to organise trips for pupils on this occasion. In addition, talks and mobile exhibitions will be held at schools and State agencies.
Activities of Vietnam’s museum system were introduced at a press briefing in Hanoi on May 16.
Vietnam became an official member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 2002.
