The Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Phu Trong, attended the opening ceremony. Also present were more than 1,000 artisans and troupes from Hoa Binh, Son La, Phu Tho, Ha Tay, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa and Dak Lak.
The curtain raiser was a live show by troupes and students from the College of Viet Bac art and culture presenting the distinctive cultural traditions of the Muong ethnic minority.
Traditional popular performances and a seminar on the preservation and development of the Muong culture in the period of the country’s renovation and integration process will be held at the Hoa Binh Cultural Palace.
During the event, there will be exhibitions, artistic performances, food and drink competitions and a Muong beauty contest to promote cultural exchanges among different ethnic groups in order to build a better Muong cultural life.
The event aims to enrich the object and non-object values of the Muong ethnic group as a contribution to strengthening the unity in the great family of ethnic Vietnamese nationalities.
