"The Magic Flute" by Austrian well-known composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be performed for the first time in Vietnam from September 16-20 to mark Mozart's 250th birthday and the Hanoi Conservatoire's 50th founding anniversary.

The opera will be staged at the Hanoi Opera House by 120 artists from the Hanoi Conservatoire under the conduct of Wolfgang Groehs and director Manfred Waba of Germany and arts guidance of Vietnamese People's Artist Nguyen Trung Kien. It will be sung in German.

"The Magic Flute" is one of the last three outstanding works composed by Mozart in 1791. The others include a clarinet concerto and a Requiem mass.
