The Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee has approved a project on overall investment in preserving and upholding the cultural values of the ancient city of Hoi An in combination with developing tourism at a total cost of about VND1,100 billion.
Accordingly, the project, to be implemented from 2009 to 2020, will make an assessment of the ancient city’s impact on tourism development and vice versa in order to seek measures to restore and preserve the tangible and intangible heritages of Hoi An.
The Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee plans to submit the project to the Government for consideration and approval in November 2008.
