The TBS-EFA programme, worth US$5.5 million is funded by the European Commission (EC), the World Bank (WB), Belgium, Canada, Spain and New Zealand and is being carried out from 2006-2010 with the aim of helping Vietnam enhance its management, evaluation and supervisory capacity in education projects.

In 2007, the MoET disbursed US$407,657 for projects to train primary and secondary teachers, build and upgrade 56 schools and purchase school equipment.

In 2008, the MoET will continue to allocate US$320,000 for the training of high quality human resources and the upgrading of information and technology systems in schools in remote and mountainous areas.
