The inauguration of the monument is among the pre-eminent events in honour of the first Great Unity Congress of Central Highlands ethnic groups to be held from March 28-29 in the city of Pleiku, Gia Lai.

An inauguration ceremony was held at the head office of the Gia Lai provincial party committee for a monument located in the place where President Ho Chi Minh’s letter to the "Congress of Southern Ethnic Groups 1946" was read. The event aimed to honour the first Great Unity Congress of Central Highlands Ethnic Groups, which will be held on March 28.

The complex construction was built on an area of 2000 square metres with many beautiful works involving advanced techniques.

The letter of Ho Chi Minh was carved on a granite mass that weighs 60 tonnes, is 5.5 metres in height, 2.9 metres in width and 1.7 metres thick. The President’s sculpture is located on the stone, whose front was flattened for his letter and whose back carries a map of Vietnam. The letter sits on a three-legged base engraved with designs that symbolise the sun and earth.

The monument is a collective work made by Central Highlands ethnic groups to memorise Ho Chi Minh’s teachings and report their achievements.
