Director of the Rome Culture Department, Vicenzo Vita, Associate Professor Pietro Massina from Napoli Orient University and many Vietnamese researchers attended the talk.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Van Nam gave a briefing about the country’s history of development, following the success of the Vietnamese revolution.
Assoc. Prof. Massina spoke of Vietnam’s national renewal process starting from the sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam towards national industrialisation and modernisation. The country has become an example of poverty reduction, rising from a war-torn land to prosperity with sustainable development, he said.
The documentary film “Cao Nguyen Da” (Stone Highland) about Vietnamese hardworking people and the culture of its ethnic minority people, and another documentary film “Dang Sau Luy Tre Xanh” (Behind the Green Bamboo Belt) on the feelings of Italian soldiers about Vietnam, were screened on the occasion.
Before the ambassador’s talk, a gala night, a photo exhibition on Vietnam, a fashion show by designer Minh Hanh and a Vietnamese tea and gastronomy festival were held within the framework of the Month of Vietnamese culture.
