A month of British culture and education opened in Hanoi on October 1 with a week-long film festival named "UK Flash".

Latest films nominated for the world's prestigious prizes like those of British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), Oscar and Golden Ball will be screened on this occasion.

During the month, various events will be held in Hanoi, central Da Nang City and HCM City, including art performances, a seminar and an exhibition on UK education, and a meeting of former Vietnamese students in the UK.

On October 15, a gala night on the theme "Colours of the Street" will introduce visitors to popular activities in UK streets, which include music performances, portrait drawing, stilt walking, speech delivering, and even kiosks’ selling souvenirs and traditional British dishes.

The month of British culture and education is jointly held by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Culture and Information, and the British Embassy and Consulate.
