The top ten finalists at the Miss Grand Slam competition included four faces from the Miss World 2009 pageant. The six other contestants were from the Miss Universe 2009, Miss Tourism Queen and Miss Earth pageants.

Miss Australia Universe, Rachel Finch, was crowned at the Miss Grand Slam Oceania 2009 pageant. Beauty queens from the other three continents are still waiting on the jury’s decision.

One hundred candidates compete for the Miss Grand Slam title every year. The candidates are winners from other pageants or contestants from the final rounds of the five largest international pageants, including Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, Miss International and Miss Tourism Queen.

Previously, Giang finished in the top three of the “Sexiest Woman Alive” poll, and she ranked in the top ten for the competition “Face of the Year”. She was the only Vietnamese candidate competing for the Miss Grand Slam 2009 title.
