All single Vietnamese women aged 18 to 27, who have at least a high-school diploma are eligible, wherever they are, either in Vietnam or abroad.

The 2006 pageant has four categories: ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) with a performance, and a question-and-answer period.

Organised by Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper, the winner will get a crown, a VND80 million (US$5,000) gift and a holiday abroad. First and second runners-up will get gifts worth VND40 million (US$2,500) and VND30 million (US$1,900).
