Representatives from the Hoan Vu Joint Stock Company, which is responsible for organising the event, paid a working visit to the US from October 1-7. Currently, lawyers of both sides are drawing up the legal documents to be signed by the organisers.

The 2008 Miss Universe Contest has received permission from the Government to hold the event in south-central Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa province.
