Meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the central province of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee Le Xuan Than on June 30, Paula Shugart said her organisation has selected Nha Trang as the venue for next year’s contest and to celebrate 60 years of the establishment of the organisation. 

“We are waiting for permission from Khanh Hoa province and the Vietnamese government,” she said. 

Than welcomed the organisation’s proposal, saying he believes that Khanh Hoa is capable of hosting the event, as it successfully hosted the Miss Universe in 2008. 

He told the MUO and its partner to draw up detailed plans including funding for the event to submit to the provincial People’s Committee. Once approved by the committee, the plans will be submitted to the Government for consideration.
