The contest will take place over a month at Song Lo tourism resort in south-central coastal Khanh Hoa province in June, 2008. Vietnam will upgrade local hotels and airports and build a 7,500 seat stage.

Kim Hong, a director of Ciat Company which is responsible for finding donors for the contest said Vietnam will deposit US$1.5 million to ensure all the organizing board’s requirements.

The pageant is expected to attract contestants from 100 countries and will be broadcast on the US TV channel NBC. This is a good chance for Vietnam to promote its image abroad.
