Miss Universe 2007, Riyo Mori, arrived at the international airport Tan Son Nhat on June 19 to attend the Miss Universe 2008 beauty pageant. Duong Truong Thien Ly, second runner up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2008, welcomed Ms Mori.

Ms Mori took photos with fans after disembarking from a Japan airlines plane before heading for the New World Hotel.

More than 80 beauties were present in HCM City to participate in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant. According to the organizing board, the programme will begin with a gala to welcome contestants who will have a chance to meet and share experiences with Miss Universe 2007, Riyo Mori.
