Minh made good start at Chinese Taipei Open

(VOV) -Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh successfully defeated underdog World No.91 Wei Nan from Hong Kong, China in his first match of the 2012 Chinese Taipei Open on October 3.

He narrowly beat Nan 21-19 in the first set and 21-15 in the second one to finish the match in 34 minutes.

As the tournament’s No.2, Minh was automatically advanced to the tournament’s second round.

Meanwhile, his rival has to compete fiercely against Chia Hung Lu from Taiwan in the first round at 1.pm before facing the Vietnamese opponent some hours later.

Earlier, another Vietnamese player Vu Thi Trang lost to the tournament’s No. 3 Pui Yin from Hong Kong in the women’s singles event.
