The initiative designed by Nguyen Nga, a Vietnamese living in France who is a director of an “art house” project, was introduced at the photographic exhibition “a memory of Long Bien Bridge” at the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France on June 22.
Ms Nga said that the event aims to honour the historic bridge which has had a strong attachment to the capital over the past 100 years as well as marking the Thang Long millennium celebrations.
The initiative was warmly welcomed by the Hanoi City People’s Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, businessmen, historians, artists and Hanoi citizens.
During the two-day festival on October 10 and 11, the bridge’s history will be replayed with various artistic events.
